There was Momma, teaching me how to hold the crochet hook and the thread. I remember as if it were yesterday and my hands begin to recognize the motion and the feel of the yarn slipping gently through my fingers. I will always be grateful for those lessons as they help me relieve the stresses of my adult world. Momma didn't care for knitting. She said it was too slow and so I didn't pick up a knitting needle until after I was married. My husband's Mother taught me the basic stitches for knitting and again I let it go for many years. Last year, at the age of 65, I remembered how peaceful it felt to create something with yarn and needles and I began again.
I decided to start with something small so I could actually finish it! I found a booklet of dishcloth patterns and began knitting with glee. Then I found a wonderful group on the internet and life just couldn't get any better! Last week I found a small group of women meeting at a local store and realized that life can always get better. lol
This is my first attemp at blogging and I hope I can keep up with it. I have read and admired many other blogs, especially those of knitters and maybe someday they can read mine. I have a long way to go, but I think I can do it. Thanks for all your inspiration all you wonderful needle workers and artists, I could never have come even this far with out you.
I will stop for today and go to the kitchen to prepare supper for my hungry hubby. Goodnight all,
